| I'm needing information on how to make my hog gain weight. She is 153 pounds as of today, our fair is Aug 6 and she needs to be at least 210 to 280. We're feeding her Showtec, fast fuel, milk supplement, and electrolites in the water. She is a bluebutt/back, long and lean and good muscle tone..just needs to weigh more. All suggestions needed.

| I will sure try the cake mix. I have tried Boost vitamin drink and she loved it but then I was told it may take her away from her food. But if it works and won't interfere with the food..I'll do it again. I have also heard of using Jello and Pudding mix over the food...Has anyone tried this one??

| Another thing I have tried and she loves is bananas. I mix them with the powdered fat stuff we're using...don't remember the name of it but I know it's by showtec. I was also told today to get some fresh cows milk and give her...has anyone heard of any of these and tried them??

Pigs need a lot of water all the time, and plenty of water helps put on weight. Corn does not cause weight gain. Actually, corn makes pigs lose weight. It goes right through their digestive system. If you feed you pig mash, check your feed tag, some mashes are made of mostly corn! Mash, if your pig will eat it, is a good feed option

Everthing sounds good ... When was this pig farrowed? Either too young or not fed properly when young or worms.. Worm with Ivomec or Dectomax and keep doing what your doing. Keep a shading spot available and plenty of clean fresh water.

wet the feed every time you feed. and KEEP THAT PIG HYDRATED!
don't walk your pig or shave it until the morning you bring it to the fair.
and feed a full ration that morning.
also, make sure you feed your pig right before you leave for fair, because they can pee and poop 2-5 pounds out on the trailer.
