My son has a 5 month old spot gilt to show next month. For the last week she has acted like she is "under the weather". She is still eating and drinking but she is not being herself, as active as she was. She is still gaining weight however her weight gain has slowed down from 12 pounds a week to 7 pounds a week. Keep in mind these gains are an average. We weigh every other Sunday.
She lays around, very grouchy and being an all around B-tch to the other pigs. I talked to the breeder and he suggested it might be the beginning of her "cycle". He advised me to give her 5 cc of B Complex to boost energy. I did and it seemed to help a little bit.
By the way, she weighed 206 on Sunday.
Anyone seen these symptoms before ? Any suggestions are very appreciated!
