Hi you guys, this is my 1st time on this site and just learning your ways (pretty much computer illiterate) seems most of ya'll are goat farmers..i'm not..have horse rescue and one pet goat..i love sparky..he is a nigerian dwarf..he is house broken and runs w/ dogs..my question is..he is up to date on all shots and worming..he eats grass, hay and textured feed.(along w/ cheese curls and other innumerable trats),,.he has a salt type suppliment because he is neutered..to keep him from getting kidney stones..he sleeps in house at night and during afternoon naptime (it's hot where i live)..in otherwords fat and happy except recently he started eating shale! i've had to pen him in a grass only pasture so he'll stop..do you all think he may be lacking something in his diet that would make him want to eat rock? asked vet, he said keep an eye on it but shouldn't hurt him much...i think he's lacking something...don't mean to sound crazy or overprotective but we all love him so if any ideas i'd sure apprectiate...thanks so much, helen
